More about me…

Photo of Charlie King sports massage and movement therapist, chelmsford, essex, female business owner and boss.

I have been practising sports massage and soft tissue therapy since 2015. Having gained a BSc Hons in Sports Science, my early career was in recruitment, and then as a Police Officer for 5 years. On the arrival of my daughter, I retrained, gaining a Level 4 Sports Massage Diploma. I have completed many training programmes to enhance my skills and have recently qualified as a Personal Trainer.

My background in sports has given me a competitive edge and knowledge that helps my clients to achieve their goals. Being an elite competitive swimmer in my youth, I strongly believe everyone should learn to swim. I became a swimming teacher, I write swimming training programmes for clients looking to improve their swimming fitness or train for a triathlon. As an adult I have competed in many open water swimming challenges, including a relay cross-channel swim, the Red Bulls Neptune Steps (a cold water swim OCR race), lake and sea open water races around the UK, plus a few triathlons. From ages 16-35, I enjoyed playing rugby at Women’s National 1 and University, I was successfully accepted into the England Students Rugby Academy during my time at university enabling me to train alongside some incredible athletes.

Being active, I have enjoyed many sports and activities, including CrossFit, Weightlifting, Stand-Up Paddle Boarding, Hiking, Yoga, Pilates and Spinning. Now in my 40s, my personal fitness goals are simply to keep fit for life and pre-empt menopause.
